Jus to say that I went camping for the first time 2 weeks ago for a weekend. We purchased a new Suncamp Vario 6 and there was just me and the wife. We looked very puzzled and couldn't really understand the instructions - 5 mins later a very nice lady came over, asked us if we were struggling and when we admitted we didn't have the foggiest idea what we were doing, their whole party (4 adults and a couple of kids) came over and help us put the tent up.

This was our first introduction to camping and we were pleasantly suprised.

Almost every time we went camping last year oh had to meet us there due to work, so it was always me and daughter(then 14) who had to put tent up. Somehow we managed, there was a lot of laughing.....from other campers as well as us!!

There was one time it was quite windy and we were struggling. Some nearby campers came to help us. We had to try to look like we knew what we were doing, but don't think we succeeded!!!

Most campers are a very friendly bunch and you should not have too much trouble. If no-one offers to help and you need some..just ask!!

Good luck

Karen

me and my girls put our big tent up last year by ourselves they were 13 then and we had the baby, try a practise run, just you 2, I'm sure you can do it and if not there's always someone willing to help on campsites.

You`ve put this tent up before, and there are two of you, both adults.Doesn`t matter that you`re both women. The ability to put a tent up isn`t sex linked, you know...ask my Hubby who`s better at putting up a tent!

Though of course you`re still quite new to it all, and learning. Don`t worry, you`ll get there. Give yourself plenty of time, make sure the younger ones aren`t hungry or thirsty before you start, lay everything out and go at it methodically. A second mallet helps, btw.If the small ones aren`t too small...ie over six or so...they they can help too.

But you will get help if you look like you`re having trouble, don`t worry. In fact you`ll get more offers of help as two women than if you were a couple. Don`t worry about making fools of yourselves, btw...we`ve all been there with new tents and new bits of equipment!

I pitched my new large tent last week with my boyfriends 60 year old mum and it was a doddle, even with the considerable weight! Much less hassle than when my boyfriend and I pitch together!

So what if it takes you a while longer, its all part of the fun!!

Hellen
It's a well known fact that men and women always argue when putting up new tent for the first time. 2 women together will be just fine. (They're on the same wavelength.)
