Hi Bigbill. The total load should not exceed that of the hook up. You will need to read your TV specs to find out the Amperage drawn by your TV but it will not be anything like 13 amps.

It means you can't use more than 13 amps at a time. So add up everything and of it comes to more than 13 amps don't use it all at once. I always turn off my water heater if I have the heating on, or want to use the electric frying pan or anything else that takes a lot of power.

13 amps will give you 13 x 230 ('cos it's 230 volt mains) which is 2990 watts - Take the watts given on the appliance - e.g. our TV is 70 watts and add them. So you could run quite a few tellies at a time.

13 is unusual, most sites are 10 or 16 amp.

Beware tho' that at a lot of sites, although each pitch could theoretically have the full amperage if the other pitches weren't using it, you can't all draw maximum power at the same time.

So sometimes you can't have all it says.

Hi,
Yep, that means you can use as many appliances as you wish up to 13amps total, sounds like a lot, but it soon mounts up!
Also be aware that some appliances will use more than the stated amps when starting up, eg: T.V's and almost anything with a motor in it, this is only for a second or so, but if you're running near your limit it could be enough to knock out the MCB.
As a guide line 13amps = approx 2600watts.
Have a look on the manufactures plate for the amount of watts that each appliance uses, portable tv's are usually quite low, around about 100-150watts, dvd players the same, microwaves about 650-850watts,kettles and anything that produces heat are a different story, kettles usually about 2000watts unless they are special camping ones, but can take an age to boil!

Hi Big Bill

If your TV has a 13amp fuse in it I would suggest changing that to either a 3 or 5 amp depending on the rating of your tv.

Andy

you've got the wrong fuse value in your tv plug. the idea is that the fuse is the first thing to give, should there be any problems. think you need to check what power it uses and insert the correct fuse!
