Can you help

we are thinking about going camping, for our first time. with the weather as it stands, is it worth making the move and going !!  Or will it just put us off in the future,

We have taken the tent away over night when the weather was great, and loved it, but this is the first time we are thing about going for a week, and i am so unsure about the weather,

Please help

Claire

Why not I think a bit of rain makes it more fun. My other half does'nt agree though and will often refuse to go if rain is forecast
Obviously might draw the line if its gale force winds though.

I'd say go for it - we've camped in torrential rain and high winds and still enjoyed every minute of it!! Normally if you wait for a good week in this country you'd hardly go camping at all.

Plus you have got a great tent to spend a bit of time in during bad weather - loads of room for you all to spread out & play games, drawing etc go for it you will have a fab time.

We are going to Wales towards the end of August for our first camping trip, we want to have some sunshiine, some rain and a bit of thunder and lightening thrown in for good measure!  Just think it will add to the adventure

Go for it! we are off to Criccieth on Friday for a few days and I must admit Im a bit peed off at the weather at the mo considering how lovely it has been when Ive been stuck in work

but its booked we've looked forward to it for ages so we're going! Just take warm clothes and be prepared for all weathers, as its been said previously the weather changes so often you would never do anything if you listened to forcasts

have fun

Claire
My hubby is rain adverse, so we only tend to go an hour or so away from home if it all goes pear shaped we just pack up early and get home. Like Nat says if your tent is big enough you can play games etc and actually get to use all that wonderful living space that you have paid for.

hi all

look for the rain bow .first time i went camping was in a two man tent

got soaked throw .my socks were floating in water but had a great time it helps if weather is dry but when it rains there's something about being in a sleeping bag listening to the rain  falling on the tent .doesnt stop use from going . happy camping no matter what the weather .

never let the weather put us off if it did then you would never go anywhere just pack for all types of weather even if it rains it probably wont be cold so just take a waterproof jacket.

We rang up the campsite in Cambridge that we found on this forum and booked for two nights with a view to stay longer if the weather was ok.

The campsite was more than happy to accept this arrangement.  Perhaps you could try phoning the campsite you are thinking of using and see if you can come to some arrangement.

We are very new to camping and I am not sure whether we would/could happily survive a really rainy week.

Debbie and Ian
