I got one of those popup tents from Costco, thinking it would be great for the odd night away with my youngest lad. Sure enough, we were inside it within 20 seconds of it making it out of the bag for the first time.
The problem came on Sunday, when it was time to take the wretched tent down. It took us 45 minutes to get it resembling anything like flat, and even then it didn't fit the bag. We ended up cramming it into the back of the car and pretending it was an activated airbag.
The instructions may as well be written in Swahili. Does anyone know the technique for packing these things away? I've checked the Mensa website, and they haven't figured it out yet.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

stand at the side of the tent take two loops in right hand two in left hand, flick the tent onto its side and push your right had past your left hand and your left hand past your right hand at the same time push the whole lot down to the floor and if your lucky it may fit the bag. if not do the hockey cokey and turn around and run away and leave the tent there.
Good luck, this method does take about ten attempts before it works though.
i broke a nail when i tried but its easy once you get the hang of it
a good tip i find is after you have wrestled the monster to the floor, get it between the thighs so you have both hands free to put strap around it,works for me!

I have one of these tents and luckily find it a doddle putting it away. Here is a link to the original 2 sec tent which is the same as mine. Click on the crash test which shows you how to put away your tent, there are also downloadable instructions. http://seconds.quechua.com/EN/main.html
Yippee ,i have just got my living room back after having been invaded by an Outwell pop up tent.Just purchased it to use as a pup tent for our oldest child as he prefers his own space instead of the folding camper. After a quick demo in shop i thought i knew how to pack it,then after ages trying to put away at home i remembered were to come for advice and hey presto ,pity it took me so long to come here thanks the video demo worked a treat
