Hiya,
we went on hols last week and checked the tent before going - it was fine and it had been in the bag since 1989!!!! I must admit I was surprised it was OK!!
------------- live for today ..... tomorrow could go pear shaped!!!
we didnt check ours until the week before and when we looked we had really bad mildew we thought it was dry when we put it away but obviously not !!!! two days scrubbing later we saorted it but now i always check a few days before!
never used to check are tent neither the only time we use to put it up in the garden was if it was wet when packing up or when it was new to check everything was present and no major problems
I always put the tent up in the garden before each trip. I tell hubby that it's to check that everything is okay, but actually I just love pitching it and looking to see if there's any more improvements I can make. Sometimes I kit it out too just to decide if the table would be better this way or that etc. Saves time moving 'furniture' around when we get to the site too
Normally no but as our tent is 3 years old we thought we would like to check it. Put it up for my daughters sleepover in the garden. Killed 2 birds with 1 stone.
When checking if a tent is dry ,most people forget the guy ropes ,as they hold the moisture they can be the cause of a lot mildew ,if you cant get them dry ,remove them and dry them seperatly !
