We have the vario 5 and they are big tents with a lorra lorra material

First unzip the front door , the reason being its easier to bend the pole at that end , for some reason its very hard with the door zipped up,plus it makes erecting the tent so much easier.

Lay out the tent and slip the poles through the sleeves.

You and who ever is helping step onto the grass in the open doorway , you did unzip the door did'nt you

Lift the material up a little until you can see the first strap , holding the strap both follow it to their side of the tent. The other person rings and pins their side of the pole and then steps back onto the grass in the open doorway and gently pulls the folds on the pole towards you so the material is relatively all the way around the pole.

Now to bend the pole , the other person steps back over to their side and bends the pole , the bend is easy all they have to do is push the bottom of the pole towards you, my other half tended to push the pole up and in , when all is needed is to bend the pole inwards towards the person at the other side , you will see what i mean and how easy it is when you try it

PS: Bend the poles towards the back of the tent.

Repeat for all straps and poles and when done lift all the poles together and walk with the tent into position , when you have it where you want it one person holds the poles and the other guys out one line at the back, its then just a matter of walking out each section towards the front and guying a line at the front and its up

Get the kettle on and guy out the rest of the tent . easy peasy

Hi I was in he same as you but i did a search and it came up with lots of tips. a guy called brezzy has his own site with lots of pics in.

What we did was lay it out flat put the 4 poles in through but keeping the door zipped closed, then satrt from the back and peg in as you go towards the front, we were told to keep door closed as you would find it hard to close ater.

Hey but everyones different lol

Sorry should have added , now zip the door and guy out fully

I have found with the Vario 5 to much tensioning of the front and side guy lines makes the door hard to open and close, just a matter of getting the tension right and that comes with practice.

I suppose we all have our own ways of erecting this tent , my way will eliminate the cross over of straps on wrong poles and its easy , believe me we have struggled when we first got it.

When we first pitched this tent people on site stopped what they were doing to watch us , we were the camp entertainment for a couple of hours , sheesh kids were sent to get their mums and dads from the toilets. my mum said you gotta come and see this
