Could you please tell me your experiences with the following tents :

Lichfield Apache 300
Vango Delta 200/300
Gelert : Tornado4
            Rocky4
            Eiger4

Ive had a vango before, so Im tempted to go for that one, but the Gelert and Lichfield seem reasonable. Its for a festival and future weekends away, so anything thats going to stay waterproof and warm!

Only a 2 man though. Its going to be used by more people than just me, so ideally needs to be a 3 or 4 man

We have been looking at these tents with our friend who has been bitten by this camping lark. The vango is indeed a great tent but take a look at the Delta 300+ designed for three or secondly Vango Gamma 250

Hi Lauren - if it is for festies, I would point out that camping fields can be tightly packed at gigs with folks kicking out yer guy ropes every 5 mins, so a tunnel design like the Gamma will be less stable as the tunnel shape is more dependent on its guy ropes for staying up than a dome is.

All the tents you have named are good and reliable. Litchfield are the bargain end and may have fewer features likes vents, mesh doors etc than the others, so try to see these models in the flesh to check that out - ventilation is vital as man made tents are prone condensation and there is nowt worse that trying to get some afternoon kip in a stuffy sweaty tent! Also I think the Apache goes up inner frist which can give you problems if the weather is wet, whereas the others go up outer first. There are otheh slight pros and cons between the others too - e.g. more porch space on the Tonado, but lower HH, which is why I am suggesting you get to see them os tha often just helps to make your mind up.

In terms of you needs, will you be carrying the tent or have you got transport? If you have transport I would say go for the roomiest ( which may also be the heaviest) cos it is nice to have a bit of space especially for  sharing with other peeps.

Hi Lauren, just been looking at the current edition of Camping. GOoutdoors.co.uk are currently selling the Easycamp Milano 400 for £39. Four berth tent that looks really good. Have looked at this tent today. Hope this helps.

Hi Lauren, we have a Gelert tornado 5 we use for cub camps, it fits 4 comfortably with room for rucksacks etc, so I am assuming the tornado 4 would fit 3 people + luggage. We paid £42 for our tornado 5 last year , I think I have seen them cheaper at Centre Caravans Oxford website recently. It's quite easy to put up/pack away, loads of space in the porch.

Hope this helps,

-------------
