we have a vango diblo for longer stays and we are looking for a cheap, quick overnight tent. oh it does have to keep rain out.
we have seen this and wonder what people think. i know the quality will not be that of our vango but i say again. looking for cheap, easy, overnighter to sleep 8
That seller doesn't have a great reputation. I'd rather not stop in that overnight if there's more than a breeze about!
Buy second hand, us tent people are always upgrading....lol. Or check out argos's Nevada range, they are reduced now and after this week i'd recommend them to anyone
------------- Gone are the 'sleeping on the floor' times, I love my TT.
Must say, we 'won' a raclet 6 berth frame tent on e-bay and it was brilliant. It was in perfect condition and gave us no problems at all. We have just sold it ( on e-bay ), I picked up a bigger frame tent through our local paper. We were lucky I know and many people do have problems, but please don't write them all off as a bad lot!!!
Just remember to be very careful and where possible try to have a look at the tent, some sellers do offer a money back offer if you are not happy. Ask lots of question regarding the condition, sellers have to be honest or you can report them to e-bay and always check their feedback score. We steer well clear of any feedback less than 98%.
I dont think there is any problem buying something like a frame tent or well known brand of tent from a private seller. My own frame tent came from a private seller on ebay and was a brilliant bargain. The problems arise with the tents sold by ebay shops with names that you never see in the camping shops, such as Stormproof USA etc. These generally end up by the bin on the campsites after the first flurry of mild breezes. You would be better waiting for the end of season sales and buying a reputable brand at a reduced price.
i brought my new tent (see pics) from that seller and he was great, and the item is great was going to bid on the one in your op but it was only for me lol :)
ooooh i`d be very weary of that too, you know the saying... 'buy cheap buy twice' (at least i think its a saying ) anyway, its coming towards the end of the summer season and everywhere is starting to reduce their stuff, ive heard that argos have a sale on camping equipent, and alot of folk on here have tents from argos and luv em!
im in the same position as you, we have a big 8man vango thats absolutly fab but abit big and cumbersome for weekends, so we too are going to look at a smaller quicker weekender tent. i seem to have more money to spend around feb/march as in summer it all goes on camping, and in autemn its new school uniforms and xmas, but feb is a good time to get all the bargains too!!
Our local Sainsburys have a 4 man tent at the moment, with 4 sleeping bags ( cheap ones ) and 4 roll mats. Originally it was £99.00, then £45.99, now it is £25.00. Everytime I go in they have sold out of them! Thought it might be good just for overnight stops.
I know it is not big enough for you, but it goes to show there are some good bargains if you look for them.
