Hi

Just got a Norfolk Lake and used it for the first time over the weekend. Are there any other Norfolk Lake ownwers out there that want to swap experiences, good or bad, about their tent, or have any useful tips?

I have just purchase a Norfolk lake and put it up for the first time on Sunday to test it out.  What a wonderfull tent!  A bit annoyed that I had to attach all the guy ropes and some were frayed.  Also our repair kit was missing.  Besides that what a great tent.

We are normally just 2 adults and 2 kids, but we are taking my in-laws on the first camping trip in the tent on August B/H.   They have never ever camped and like how we talked about it on our first trip.  Hope we all get on in such a small space.  Mind you with 3 bedrooms it will be fine.

Can't wait to use it.

I don't think you'll be dissappointed campbb. It's a lovely tent. I was a bit miffed about having to sort out all the guy ropes and work out which ones went where, so many different lengths and one of mine was frayed! I too never had a repair kit and glad you mentioned it as it hadn't crossed my mind. I'll have to get in touch with the shop I bought it from.
Hope you enjoy it.

Looking at the Outwell web site, there is no mention of a repair kit with the lake range. I don't think a poly/cotton tent can be repaired with a patch like the polyester ones, they have to be repaired by a pro...hence no repair kits.

I contacted the place where I got mine. There was a couple of minor issues with it and they insisted on replacing it. I think this was mainly to do with a small patch of canvas had been snagged.   I asked about a repair kit and they said that they thought it should have had one, once the new tent arrives I will let you know.

Hi CampBB

Out of interest, where did you get your tent from?  Sounds like great customer service, also there don't seem to be many places that stock the Norfolk Lake yet.

Thanks

Hi Campingiscold

There aren't many places that have any left now. I bought mine from ABC-Camping but I think I had the last one. It was deliverd within 2 days which I thought was very good. No complaints with tent so i don't know what their customer service would be like in the event of a fault. I've read mixed reviews about them on here.

Hi Campingiscold

I got mine from Total-camping-online via ebay.  They have a web site as well www.totalcamping.co.uk    They don't have any left, as I got the last one as my replacement.  However this one has a problem as well, one of the hoops for linking the ground sheet is missing.  They said that they will pick this up after my trip in August and replace it with a new 2007 model when it comes out in Feb.  Really happy with the service, they have acted promptly and were at all times concerned that they solved the problems to my satisfaction.  Would recommend them, and buy again from them.

The tent was really easy to put up and the room inside is fantastic.  Can't wait to try it out in August.

Sorry just realised I have two logons to this site!  CampingBB and newatcamping!  So my last reply was for the post made by campingbb.  I will have to get rid of newatcamping logon!
