Have you thought about the vango venture 500.  We have one and it fits us (2 adults 2 kids) comfortably for a weekend (wouldn't like it for any longer though ).

Have a look.

hi jcd i have to agree with the above post when team aspen(me and daveashy)where away at red bank farm last weekend his brither and family came with us for the second time .the have a V V 500 and it is a fab well sized tent and i would highly recomend it.for overnighters we have a campus calgary 4 which is quite low and in hindsight if i was choosing a new overnighter i would definatly take the venture having seen it perform...............there are lots of tents out there but only one brand called vango and you have experiance of how well made they are .....happy trails

Hi Vicky

Got to agree, Vango Venture 500.

We've had ours 3 years now , never found anything better. There is only 2 of us, but I would imagine an extra 2 kids wouldbe fine , size wise.

One thought , the new model has the bedroom SIG connected to the Living area SIG and the living area SIG is not attached to the tent-wall.It just toggles onto it, leaving openings for draughts,   hope you see what I mean !!

Up to the 2005 model the bedroom SIG is independant, and the living room SIG and tent-wall is all one continuous layer , makes for a warmer interior.

So you will find most people prefer the older model , if you can get one.

What do you other VV500 owners think ?? (seperate post though please, don't want to clutter up Vicky's post with stuff that's not relevent to her question )

I think my version of the Vango Venture 600 DLX is the best !

The goundsheet in the living area is attatched to the fly ,sperate grounsheet in the bedroom area then the pods ontop !

We recently got the Coleman Lakeside 4 for myself OH and 2 children as a weekend tent. We chose it after going to a tent display to see what would be best for us. Supposed to be really easy to put up even single handedly, has 2 separate beds and a decent sized living area. Trying it out in 2 weeks.

Hi Vicky.

I'm a new member and planning my first ever trip become quite addicted to reading the posts!  We fancied the idea of weekend camping so we looked around at some (so we thought) very expensive dome tents.  Also looked in Argos, better prices but quite low.  Finally bought a tent from Tesco!    It's a "Radner" and is a 4/6 person dome tent with a bedroom at each end and living space in middle which is high enough to stand up in.  It looks almost identically to the more expensive ones in the camp shops, but at £59.99 we feel it's a great tent for a weekend away with our two children.  Ofcourse we haven't actually been yet...watch this space, I may change my mind!!

hello,

personal experience only but for weekend trips and max space/least hassle ratio i would recommend the coleman ridgeline 4 or canyon 6 , 4 poles and clip in ground sheets and can be bought for much cheapness at various places.

This is the prime time when people sell their tents, as the season comes to an end; so you are sure to pick up a weekend tent bargain.

Yep the VV500 is a good tent, but there will be loads out there on sale or being sold off cheap - get your short list of decent make and models are look out for them coming in.

Hi

We have a Pro action Arizona 8 man which we bought when we first started camping a couple of years or so ago, it is easy to put up and has 3 seperate bedrooms our 2 kids have a room each while we have the larger centre bedroom,if you happened not to be taking the kids the 3 rooms can be un zipped and made into one large bedroom, it also has a fairly good size living area.

hope this helps

Brayee
