hi have been looking for a new tent and have been offered a rather large sunncamp manta (16 berth) for 140 pounds it has only been used twice and still has warranty(5 year on poles 1 on tent).they decided camping is not for them...My main concern is would it be to big for campsites...must admit like the idear of the space as we are 2 adults 5 kids and quite often take my sister and her 2 kids  any advice about camping with large tent...

Seen the tent it is very large can only suggest that maybe you give the site you fancy a buzz to see if they have the pitch size for the tent.  There are also posts on here saying about sites excepting larger tents.

That is one HUGE tent. I know £140 seems like a bargain, but do you really want one that big? I would also recommend seeing it up - the one I went in was very draughty.

Not all campites have size restrictions/rules - I camp regularly down in the new forest, at the Forestry sites, and they don't have any issues - it is run as an open site. So there will be many sites you could take it to - I would just come back to is it a tent you actually want?

Hi Donna4725. The Manta is a huge tent and would agree with Big Bunny you should see it up before you buy it. Not all sites have pitch restrictions but it pays to chat with the campsite when you book to see if they can accomodate a large tent. There is a pinned topic on sites that accept large tents see below:

Hope this helps.

We have the 12 berth version and that is large but the manta is really huge. It's just over a metre wider than ours but roughly 3 metres longer aswell. We don't have problem with pitch sizes, (well we haven't yet anyway), but I think you probably would with that one.  You could always sleep somebody in the living space in a smaller tent if you needed to.
