Going camping with our friends next week and we called about a campsite which is half the price of the first one we called!

Trouble is friends have asked whether it has showers and electricity...showers I think it has but electricity!!! I don't do electricity so have no idea

So what do I say in this e-mail to break it to them as gently as possible, that no there probably isn't any electricity!!!

Also now got the worry that it'll be full as they said we didn't have to book!

Errrrrrrrrrr...................pass! Maybe you should just take the bull by the horns and come straight out with it!

We like EHU and find most sites let you book ahead for that, so we always know we can get in where we want to go.

Tell them you have no idea, because you don`t have EHU, then give them the phone no so they can phone up and check for themselves.

I have to say, though, price isn`t everything. I can take or leave EHU but I`d not be pleased if someone decided to take me to a site without showers. I`d rather pay more and have at least some facilities....and if your friends only have electric equipment, it`s a bit unfair to take them to a site where they`ll be stuck with no cooker, lighting or possibly cool box, whatever you think of their methods.

And to not have a booking for two pitches during  August??? ...hmm. Also not for me.

My OH refused to go camping EVER without electricity.Once introduced to the delights of rechargable batteries and the gas stove he now wonders why anyone would want EHU! Don't know how you convince them excpt to ask them to try it! Claire

Ask your friends what it is that they are thinking of bringing with them that requires mains electric?

You may then be able to pesaude them to do without or there is no need for the item(s)

Sounds a bit dodgy to me; cheap campsite, with a shower and you don't need to book in the busiest month of the year!

Well either you've found a right little gem that no other camper has found, you have found a good campsite and it will be fully booked when you arrive and you'll be going home again or you're going to be roughing it a bit.

If you're friends are child free I'd encourage them to try roughing it a bit - it's more fun. If it has a shower and a loo what more do you need.
