Hi , I have just purchased a new 9 berth dome tent, I have camped for years & have allways had a frame tent, I still have a very large cabanon frame tent. Anyway to get to the point, we put our new tent up yesterday & to be honest we found it very uncomfortable in the living area, plus I couldnt imagine where all my cooking stuff & other gear table ect would go do they have to go outside ? dont get me wrong the new tent is lovely & so easy to pack & carry around its just the living area dosnt seem very livable :-( any advice would be greatly appriciated. :-)
we do are cooking outside, we have a wind break that we make into a square shape, and we do are cooking in that it keeps the wind off the stove etc, and that free,s up the living area of the tent.
Didn't notice they were sold out sorry, were going to get one of the windbreaks and a daytent to replace our gazebo, but it'll have to wait till next year!
We tried a modern (tunnel not dome) tent a couple of years ago, but after one 5-day holiday sold it & bought a Cabanon frame tent - never looked back since.
Frame tents are quicker & easier to erect, brighter (lots of windows), far more stable in bad weather & less flappy thansynthetictents, and you can cook inside too. My advice? Stick with the Cabanon
Hi Mariecat and welcome to UKCS one of the most addictive websites on the internet. We to have a large dome tent but all our cooking is done outside. We have a windbreak we put up in a U shape that becomes the kitchen. We got an Aztec windbreak that is 5 metres long for £29 from PJ Camping. Works a treat.
We have been naughty & gone & bought a lovely new outwell hartford tent that has loads of walkabout living space & it has a huge entrance porch that would make a brill kitchen area, It looks lovely & felt great inside .
Cant wait to try it, We are off this weekend, will let you know how we get on.
