We have a Sunncamp Olympic huge tent. As we are off to Eastbourne this weekend for a week and its now freezing with rain I need to ask who uses what to heat their tents?
Im looking on Towsure and found a oil filled radiator which looks a good idea (4 and 2 year old with us) as no flame, but im not sure how effective they are. Has anyone got one? I really dont want to use Black cat although have heard they are good as im not too comfortable with gas in the tent. Halogen or fan are another possibility.
hi i use a small halogen heater that has either 400w or 800w setting, it heats my hartford xl just fine, very cosy. Only thing about them is they are very bright, so we turn it so its not face on to us.
If you want something really lightweight, Towsure have a 400/800 watt halogen heater which seems very good value without taking up too much space. Have prdered one myself.
Looking at a heater 400w to 1200w on outdoorworld website. Was wondering whether this would be enough for our current (or even new) tent when we decide what we are getting

------------- It'll work out in the end!!!!
I didn't do it !! Nobody saw me do it !! You can't prove anything !!
Hi, We always use EHU so we generally use an electric fan heater 2kw/1kw and it is brilliant as it has a thermostatic control, so it just switches on and off as required. We also have a small oil filled radiator. This again is thermostatically controlled and is great for keeping the tent at a compfortable temperature and you can confidently leave it unattended. Ours is only a 440 watt job, but the heat it kicks out is amazing.
Have fun!

{As told to me by a friend.} Man's best friend is the dog, but a women's is the bunny
Smile and the world smiles with you, we hope!!
We have a Black Cat and yet again I have come away with a burn on my leg! I am a littel prone to burning myself I guess, but I do wonder about people with little children when using this heater. Anyhow, the gas ran out on the last night and I put the Campingaz cooker on (in desperation), it was more efficient than the BC but I'm not sure if the fumes were any different - like, were we carbonmonoxiciding ourselves?
Either way, the tent was warmer! (which has got me thinking).
We take a greenhouse heater with us as it double as a fan if the weather is hot. Also OH said it would be safer than some heaters as it is condensation and drip proof, plus it has a thermostat so knocks itself off.
