Hi to all out there,am new to the camping world and new to this site (about 5 minutes),last week i purchased what i thought was a bargin tent off of ebay and took it with my family (wife,3 girls 7,4and 6 months) to north norfolk for the weekend... and what fun we had in the gales and pouring rain... although the tent stayed fixed down two of the bedroom compartments were soaked through and we abandend the trip.It didnt dampen our spirits though and today we have been out looking at a replacement,if its possible could i ask for some advice on the biarritz 6 from you kind experienced campers out there.

Hi there, welcome to this site....you will be addicted to it in no time. I have read so many posts about dodgy tents from Ebay...and to be fair I have read a few about good buys from Ebay. Generally I would not touch Ebay for tents.....it is just like buying something from a bloke in the taproom of a pub.... a big gamble. If you stick to reputable dealers, you should not go far wrong. Especially at this time of year as the 'tent sales' are starting. Cut your losses and go a grab a bargain right now! We bought ours from Blacks and they are a very good company.
Have fun!

we have a Royal Six.  reccommend it highly,   if you considering either diablo 600 or royal B 6 go for the royal.  Extra pole on bedroom makes a huge difference in head room in bedrooms.  Ours is the 2005 model  blue/grey     the 2006 is a lighter green version depends on tatse i guess.  great tent   spacious  get it   n love it

gary n susan

ps any further qusetions feel free to ask

Hi, I spent all of June researching these two tents on this site and other places (visitng exhibitions etc), in the end I went for the Royal Biarritz 6 mainly as others have said the extra pole in the bedroom is really useful and the saggy sides I saw in display Vangos would have driven me mad.

The Biarritz 6 is also cheaper (we got ours for £180 but have seen them for £169 on Ebay, not 2nd hand ones either), whether there is a difference in the construction of it I don't know but they looked pretty similar.

We took ours out at the end of June where we had a mixture of sun , wind and rain (not a bad test) it was fine and I really loved the increased space (only 2 of us )over our last 4 man tent.

I would however recommend getting some of the Delta ground anchors to hold it down as it is a big tent and with the wind behind would make a big old kite)

Hi and welcome!   We love our Biarritz and it has stood up to awful weather. It's really roomy inside with loads of living space for a family. I know lots of people here love their Diablo's but I still think the extra headroom is a plus. Some people have experienced the "saggy bedroom" syndrome but there are also lots who say they haven't. The Biarritz is also a lot cheaper and we got ours last year from World of Camping for £159. Good luck in your search for your perfect tent!!

No problem, there's a guy on Ebay (can't remember his name but he was really helpful) based in Cornwall who was selling them for £169 + £20 postage. I had to do a bit more hunting as I wanted the blue 2005 model but an hour searching the net will yield results.

Hi you can always get the next one up a biarritz 9 for £200 including postage. It has 3 bedrooms and the 3rd bedroom in the middle also has a door in it. We have 2 boys aged 3 and 6 who currently share so we use the 3rd bedroom as a general 'junk' room for now but the elsest will shortly use it. This will mean there is still plenty of room in each bedroom for all the kids clothes etc

Regards

Nick

my only concern with going up to the rb9 is the size, although we are a family of 4 + a baby, i have heard that some campsites dont except larger tents and i dont want to buy something so big that i cant camp anywhere
