Hi.

I have a vango aspen 700  which I love but have now become a single parent so it will be impossible to erect on my own.  So has anyone any ideas of a spacious tent for a family of three, which I can put up alone (kids only 7 and 3)?

Most have SIG and ideally plenty of space in living area and bedroom large enough for a double plus a single airbed next to each other, also storage area would be nice.  (in other words I want my aspen but to be able to put it up alone  )

Any help would be nice.

Thanks

Hi Pontewhites and welcome to UKCS. You could always go with your aspen and hope that some kind campers will help you put it up. If this is not an option and you need a tent that you can singular put up here are a couple of options to consider

Outdoor Revoultions - VRX330

Vango Venture 500

Both easily to put up on your own according to this website.

Whatever option you choose happy camping again soon

Based on "must have a SIG"...

Someone might help, who has one - but if you could put up a Outdoor Rev Scenic5i on your own, that would be a good one on your shortlist.

Although on paper it looks like it has two bedrooms, the Campus/Kyham Yale is really is a single room tent with some dividers and consequently definately worth a look. Well priced as well, with a few people on here who will testify that it can be put up solo.

Have left off a Montana 4 on the basis that I still think it would be a bit too fiddly for a single person, but some may disagree.

vango venture 500 is any easy tent to put up, i've done it several times on my own... bedroom big enough for double airbed and 2 ready beds with room to spare. Gamma 450 is also easy to put up, (we had 350 and i put that one up on my own too, whilst my 4 year old pretended to help) it is a little bigger than the 350, but there's a decent sized living space. a 2 person bedroom for storage and a bigger bedroom that could easily get 1 double and a single airbed too. just got oregan 600, easy to put up and loads of space.

Thanks guys.

Plenty to start with.

Rikit - Taking the aspen and hoping for help is not really an option as I can not lift the thing into the car - think it weighs as much as me!!  lol

The Cabanon Pacific frame tent is very easy to erect single handedly and the aluminum poles make for a lightweight package. It's a bit pricey new though.

If you mean the Vango Oregon 600...yes, it can be put up by one person (me) and it`s even easier if my nine year old helps.

No SIG though. But possibly worth a look.

If you like the stye of the Oregon, but do want a SIG, then also have a look at a Sunncamp Haven 600 (2006 model). I think it is also fly-sheet first (confirm anyone?). It is, however, more expensive.

And the Kyham/Campus Yale, as already mentioned is very similar in tunnel style (but less expensive that the Haven).

I often put up my Kyham xxl on my own, very easy to do.
