One of the leg poles from our new Aspen 700DLX could not be split (at least not on my own) another camper pulled one side and suddenly it separated; totally !

How should I have separated it ?

Can I repair it myself ?

Should I speak to the retailer as it was impossible to free the pole on my own...

I don't know the Aspen very well, but are all the other pole sections linked together so that you pull them apart but they remain attached in a way that means you can fold then to put away? If this answer is yes, and it was one of these linkages that has been broken, these are easily replaced. Camp shops sell the spring links and  tool for shoving them down the pole ends. Its a fiddly job but do-able. I have just had to so exactly this after an over-enthusiastic friend broke the spring links on my porch poles last week.

However, as it is new, do check it out with the retailers/makers, but they may say that the person helping used too much force and therefore it is not their problem.

If this response is not relevant and the problem is different than I have guessed, then just ignore me!
