Do I still return the tent and at my cost if I report to Ebay and Paypal?

Reaserched the dispute thing with Ebay and they say that product has to be significantly different to that offered.

Is the fact that the tent is a slightly different shape and name, no groundsheet and only one bedroom a significant difference?

Emailing the seller again so that he can understand my issues again, before he calls tonight!

He (or his pal) has offered a £30 refund on the £154.99 originally paid as there is no ground sheet and the pole bag is damaged!

Sounds silly, but I am beside myself as to what to do, OH say's he's ok with the tent just disappointed that it is not what we paid for! Also, Canvas does have a good life does it not?

Try not to worry yourself about it too much!

Here's a suggestion,

• try and get the £30 offer up as much as you can
• Go away in the tent, try it out, and have a good time,
• Take some nice pictures of it, while its pitched.
• If you still don't like it, when you come back, stick it on E Bay, and sell it!
• Then a new buyer is covering the postage cost's.

Don't worry about it, go camping, have fun....................

I would say that it is definately not as described - its not even the same tent!

Have you researched the cost? If you are happy with it and are happy to accept the £30 refund then go for it and enjoy the tent. If its brand new, then I don't see how the canvas would have been affected - I should think that if care is taken with a tent - it should last years of use. I'm not sure how the sellers friend didn't know what kind of tent he had for sale though!

Do you need the 2 bedrooms? I'd probably wait and speak to the seller directly and make a list of issues you have with the tent and seriously think about whether its really what you want and if its not don't be afraid to say this. Ebay aren't the quickest at replying to e-mails though so its probably best sorting it with the seller. If he does ring tonight I would give him the benefit of the doubt over this as it may be completely genuine.

I have to say I did feel very sorry for you when I read this - you feel somehow its your fault, when in fact its not - yes I've been there too!
