We are looking to buy our first 'family' tent and have decided that we are looking for a two bed dome with SIG and a decent-sized living area. Some porch are would be nice too.

Only trouble is there is so much choice out there! I have a shortlist of six tents.

Easy Camp Cosenza 600 - £190
Outwell Hartford L - £150 (2005) or £170 (2006)
Outwell Hartford M - £100 (2005)
Wynster Cygnus 4 - £189
Peakland Ashover - £180
Wynnster Anglesey - £165 (2005)

Anyone had experience of these tents and know one to be better than another? They all seem to have good discounts but is there one that is an unmissable bargain at the price? Thanks in advance.

If you have a good luck I have also seen the Diablo 600 for £200 pound on the net that is another tent with all your requirements

We've got the wynnster anglesey 5. We love it.Can't fault it at all and the living space is huge.Really is a brilliant tent and cheaper than a lot of others. Ours has been in wind and rain a few times and never had a leak . Really worth getting

Hi . Sorry to confuse the issue even more but Id go for the Hartford L this yrs and then at a later date get the canopy for this for even more room an comfort , when the shops have a sale on..This tent make to me is my favorite as youve got pretty good headroom and these are quire bright inside,so when you are forced inside due to our lovely weather it doesent feel dark and gloomy. The poles on the outwell are superior to the Vangos in my opinion, the Vango is however a damm good Tent ive slept under enough to Know ....This topic could run forerver as everyone in here will have a pros and cons to all equipment....My advise is to go and see as many of ya shortlist actually erected,eg (Tent shows )have a walk around inside and get a feel for it ....check out aprrox time it will take to erect each tent (see other threads in here). My Hartford XL takes two of us just over an hour and ya can watch a move online at Outwell on how to put it up ....

   Good Luck

Thanks. I perhaps should have said that there is just three of us so the Vango Diablo 600 is maybe just a bit bigger than we need. I have crossed of the Easy Camp Consenza for that reason - so am down to 5!

Thanks for your experiences of the Wynnster Anglesey and the Hartford L. They sound promising.

Wendle - how long does the Anglesey take to put up please?

There is only three of us (at the moment) we chose the Harford XL with the view to possibly four of us the (XL has got the three pods).  I would recomend getting the Porch as you call it, or the Canopy (with windows) as it is called, if ya do  add on the canopy for these tents the canopy alone is as big as some Hike tents ive slept in with two others..You wont go wrong withe the Hartford L 2006.

  Happy camping..

Another vote for the Anglesey - had one for the earlier part of the year and it was excellent. A very well made tent and better IMHO than the similar Outwell M.

I guess your first decision is do you want the two bedrooms next to each other or seporated?

The thing that would direct my decision the most is, how you sleep in the bedrooms - do you sleep side on, where someone has to have the slope over them; or end-to-end, where the slope is only at the feet. The latter is preferable, especially as the bedrooms are not full height in the above list.
