Thanks to everyone who helped me on my quest for a resolution to my "where to tinkle in the dead of night" question.

I have now bought a BWL (99p), pine scented wood cat litter (£1.59), Zolfora (44p) and some flushable wipes (49p. All this from Wilkinsons!! Much much cheaper than the portable or folding loo I was thinking of, so thanks once again everyone. Off to sunny Devon this weekend, so sure someone in the family will give it a trial run!! (But I promise I wont give details of that!!)

Cheers all. x

Swatty, how are you planning to dispose of your cat litter and the contents?

Hmm, not entirely sure, but have biodegradeable bags to line the bucket with, and cat litter says in can be buried. I guess I am hoping it will go to landfill to rot down.

Do you have any more eco or people friendly solutions? I am very receptive!!

I think the suggestion before (Poppi?) was to use the biodegradeable bags and then just bin them with the rubbish.   You didn't mention bags in your first post and I was intrigued how you were going to get rid of them!

Hi,

Best thing to do is pour small amount of disinfectant and small amount of water into bucket before bed. pop on lid, next morning, when going to toilet/shower block, take bucket with lid, empty contents into toilet flush. when back at tent pour in boiling water with more disinfectant. At bed time take bucket to toilet, empty water down toilet and start process again.Worked well for us, and other fellow campers.

Kirsty.
