We've only been camping once - Park Cliffe in Windermere - but we did produce a few (beer!) tins and other stuff that we would normally recycle at home.  the site did have different bins for different recycling items.

If you do recycle, do you take it home, or do most sites provide recycling facilities, or don't you bother?

Most sites today have a recycling policy, at least the smaller less commercialised sited that I use have recycling in place. One site I use has seperate bins and crates for just about everything although some just stick to the usual glass and newspaper recycling. I try to recycle like I do at home by using what facilities I can at the site or even the local recycling at the supermarket etc. I do wash cans out and crush them. If there is no bin for them on site then I take them with me when I go out for the day or go shopping and generally come across somewhere to deposit them. Its very rare I have to bring anything home.

most sites we visit have good recycling points, if they dont we bring aluminium cans home as i weigh them in anyway when i have a few bags full. if its a site where a campfire is allowed we tend to burn paper and cardboard and other rubish.

We've been on sites where there are recycling bins and yep we do take the trouble to split our rubbish.  Wonder if any sites have camping gear recyclying points.  Somewhere were you can dump that item which you cant fit in the car or which for some reason (breakage etc)  its useless.

Site we stayed on. a group of lads cadged a broken picnic table from the bins.  Once they wedged a piece of wood under the centre (where the bracket had broken) it did them for the rest of their holiday.  I also managed to get a spare TBS pole for my Vango becuase the pole is the same size as a beach shelter poles someone was chucking coz the material was shredded.

(The poles from ripped and discarded windbreaks also come in handy)
