Just giving myself a pat on the back, i've just put up my new Monty6 in the garden on my own. I've had it a few weeks, but only got it out of the bag this afternoon to make sure everything is as it should be because I don't think I'll be using it until next season. It's all up but not fully guyed out because the garden is just a bit too narrow to peg out the guylines on one side, Such a shame, I was hoping to treat the kids to some garden camping this weekend.

anyway, it's a great tent and easy to put up too, it took me just over an hour, but I had to clear all the toys and junk out of the way first.

I tried doing our Monty 4 by myself but had trouble getting the pins in the poles.

Got it in the bag ok WITH the poles as well. Only problem was on of the compression straps broke.

Hi giggler, I opened the doors first.

I put the first set of poles in at the back end, and  pegged the back end guys out to hold it up, Then did the others one at a time, No need for strength?

Put roof pole in first then add legs at each side, put the pins in, but didnt peg any down until the last pole was in and front guylines in to hold front up,

then made the adjustments to the pole leg positions, so its all square, and peg every thing else down.

Hi ColLee

Don't put the flysheet clips on  the poles until you have put the pins in the poles. Make sure that the roof sleeve is evenly set on the poles. Was the tension strap at its loosest? I didn't have any trouble getting the pins in.

How did you get the first two poles upright and then go and put a peg in whilst holding the two side poles upright... that was the only problem we had last weekend with two adults.. we were both holding a leg ... so who was going to go and put in the peg to hold the back end up. I'm impressed.

I put the pins in the poles and left them on the ground flat. Then I went round the back and pulled it up with the middle back guyline and loosely pegged it and then pegged the side guys and corners at the back.  I think if all the poles were put in first it would have been too heavy to pull up on my own, but this way it was easy. Also I hadn't pegged the corners down first either as I thought it might have put some extra strain on while pulling it. up.
