Thanks for the additional information... we too do the legs one by one when putting up and taking down the tent... it was just that first one that we had problems with. Normally we have the kids with us so have got one of them to hold up a leg whilst one of us put in that first important peg, however we were in the tent just on our own ... (sharing the tent with our bikes) - loads of room for the two of us.
I think we can get the tent up and stuff inside in about an hour ... probably just over that...
It took me and my partner and 14 year old son hour and half to put up the gelert alaska 6 and all the things in. We have never camped before but were very impressed at the colour coded pole system should be a doddle next time as its supposed to take only 30 mins when you know what you are doing......... oh and it all fitted back in the bag!!
Hello well done you, if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay for your monty 6. Were going to get one for next year (when weve saved all our pennies up)
Debbie............tied to delete part of post but its not letting me as its been there for over 12 hours........ooooops forgot there may still be blacks spys about!!!!
let me make sure I have this clear............you put the first roof and legs poles in at the back......whilst on the floor.......(are the legs pointing towards the front or back?)...then you guy the middle guy and peg the back at ends and side...........then you put the next roof pole and legs in.............This is how we take it down, but its the one way we havn't put it up.we usually put all the poles in and then it weighs a ton.

WELL DONE............i'm impressed
With the legs pointing towards the back, pull on the middle guy to raise the tent up, have the peg and mallet behind you ready so you can grab them easily, loop the guy over the peg and whack it in to hold the back of tent up. Also i didn't attach the flysheet clips to the poles until after it was up, may make it lighter to raise?
