Hi Carole you need a proper hookup cable like this, don't be tempted to buy the cheap ones off ebay they are not safety approved and could kill you.

You can run a fridge, light, kettle, toaster, tv, fan heater , hairdryer, whatever...

But you can usually only run one heated appliance at a time. A kettle and toaster on together would probably trip the site electrics, leaving you and half the site in the dark,  as the site electric is not as high amps ?or watts?, as at home.

Debbie

Quick question for you about hook up - say I was running a fridge and a light - could I then run a halogen heater as well?

At a guess yes, you could run a halogen heater as well. It all depends on the ampage being supplied to you. The modern electric hook up used for tents are normally rated at about 10 amps. This is enough to run your fridge, light and your heater.Don't use an electric kettle at the same time....you will surely trip either your hook up in your tent or maybe your hook up supply outside. Hope this helps!
Have fun!

Yes, i'd agree with David there. I've had fridge, light and halogen on without any problems.

Excellent - probably wouldn't use kettle, hairdryer etc ..... well thats the plan anyway - who knows what I will be able to fit in the car when we have EHU - I might have to lose the rugby ball in place of a kettle LOL
