hi im going to buy a fat airic, but they are out of stock just now, using a cheap airbed till they come back in I would think the airic would be fine on its own, but if you prefer a bit of height, thats probably not a bad idea.

Hi,I have a fat airic, brilliant, except that it is very slippy..if you are on any sort of slope you are constantly sliding off. I am thinking of fabricating some sort of non slip cover or using gaffa tape!!

what about putting something under the bed to raise it up at the slope end, we did that last week and it worked a treat, old news paper works a treat or an old blanket

Thermarest also do a bit thick mattress, but it is about £120....Fat airic for £35 seems a brilliant deal. The ordinary T-a-r is very comfy so a thicker one should be OK.

I'm going to get a Fat airic in the autumn as I get a stiff back, but raising it up on an airbed should be a help. Not sure about camp beds...I always seem to tip them over!

Apparently you can curethe slippiness with that matting stuff that is used to stop stuff flying all over the dashboard of the car.....sort of matting with holes in and sticky (although there is no sticky feel to it)

We have the Fat Airics and the coleman comfort airbeds and I must say that the Fat Airics win hands down. As for slipping off, I think it might depend on which sleeping bag you have aswell.  The sleeping bags with a nylon type shell..............well, I just slip about all night.........I need the cotton type shell.  Perfect
