Hi jach,

Lay out the inner tent and insert the poles in to the colour co-ordinated sleeves.  Once this is done I then send somebody inside to lift the weight of the inner tent, in the middle where the two main poles cross, to help form the dome shape.  Whilst they are holding the tent up I place the pins in to the end of the two main dome poles.  This then gives it the shape and allows for the other poles to have the pins inserted, starting with the blue pole and then the grey poles on the bedroom pods.  Once all the poles are on their pins peg out all of the inner ensuring you do the zips up otherwise you may not be able to do them up after you have pegged it out.

Next open the outer sheet and pull it over the top.  Once it is in position insert the two porch poles and then go underneath and tie up all the ties of the flysheet to the inner poles.  Not being 10ft tall I can't reach the one on the top of the dome so I leave this one undone.  Then peg out the outer and you are done.

that seems to make more sense that the instructions.  we didn't tie the top one either.

what about the ropes do they need their own pegs or can you double up?

I do pretty much the same except I put the porch poles in the outer before pulling the flysheel over.

I've never tied the top tie either!

Just an aside - put it up with a girlfriend a few weeks ago, rather than the OH, what a different: no power struggle, sulks, shouting.  Tent went up in record time and not a saggy bedroom pod in sight!
