Hi to all you biscaya-owners, may I ask you a few questions?

Re 370/440/500, is it possible to create one large sleeping pod in the sleeping area by removing a curtain or two or are the 2/3 bedrooms permanently separated?

I read on another thread that fitting on a pitch can be tricky due to tent access being at the end as opposed to in the middle. What's your experience of this?

Do you know whether it's possible to fit the tent plus usual cooking and seating accessories in the boot of a large people carrier .... or do you need a trailer?

Thanks for taking time to reply.

A wannabe biscaya camper!

I have the 500, as far as I am aware only the 320 has the one single bedroom, the others have two seperate pods (but may be wrong).

I have never had any trouble with pitch size, as it is a tunnel tent they tend to fit on most decent pitches. You'd obviously have to enusre one of the dimensions of the pitch was larger than the length of the tent.

I only have a hatchback and roof box and fit the tent, poles, canopy, all the gear and a Bullmastiff in without any problem. Will depend on how many people and how much gear you are taking.

Pity you didn't post a few days earlier, there was a 370 on Ebay earlier this week that went really, really cheap.

We have a 370. the bedroom pod has a roll up divider so you can have one large bedroom if you want. i carry the tent in a roof box on my car (kia carens) though the tent is heavy.I think i would be able to get it all in the car if i tried.

we have had no problens in pitching it on a normal sized pitch.

Just out of interest, to you Biscaya owners out there, does your tent creak?

We had a Biscaya 500, earlier this year, which had to be returned due to design fault with the groundsheet/fly zip fixing. We are keeping our eyes open for any modifications to the 2007 model but, just have to ask; do all Biscaya frames creak? Ours did, in even the slightest breeze. In fact, one night, my OH was getting quite wound up about it as it made a racket that went on, and on, and on!

We reckoned it was inevitable, because of the pressure on curved alloy frame. We are now using our Cabanon frame tent, which makes not a sound!

My Biscaya does creak occassionally but not excessively, even in strong wind.

Just seen this thread.
I have a 320 and boy does it "creak". I reckon its the (non technical bit here) little thingamejigs, that pop out to hold the poles together. Slight movements of the canvas depress and release them.It may even be the fit of the poles not being tight enough.

Small price to pay for a storming tent though!
