Hi, Centre Caravans have this EHU on offer at £49.99 Inc delivery, not a lot of info on site, any one used them, would this do the job safely?

hi there, i placed my order with centre caravans on either thursday or friday and it arrived on monday morning for the grand total of £49.99 as you are also getting free p&p with this just now. sounded like a bargain to me

My EHU arrived today, next day delivery, all for £49.99!!! Great service from Centre Caravans. 

Question :  Are the EHU sockets on the Continent the same as in the UK?

got mine from here also, 48 hours for delivery (which was free) great deal.

One small niggle, iv been told it is possible to get same unit, but with sockets facing sideways, if you follow me. this might be better arrangement as for example, our phone chargers dont fit in sockets due to plastic attachment connecting cable to plug, We get round this by taking small adaptor. Not really a problem except for first trip trying it out, when we realised we had two phones, a charger that we couldnt plug in, and nowhere nearby to purchase said adaptor.

Hi, some are and some aren't. In France you may need an adaptor that has a standard French domestic-type plug on the end; these are available from most UK camping accessory stores. Some French sites' electricity supplies are reverse phase, and whilst you don't need to know what it means, if you're using UK appliances you will need to correct this. Thay can't be bought, so you'll have to make your own. Just make a short extension , say 6inch, for your UK EHU, (You'll get the bits from the same shop as the French adaptor), but wire live to neutral and neutral to live, and earth to earth. Then label this cable as what it is. You'll need a mains tester to see if the supply is reverse phase or not, again from same shop probably.

On the odd occasion I've ventured beyond France I've managed with my standard UK type EHU. I think you'll find that a good site will lend you an adaptor if necessary.
