I can't comment for sure re Cabanon as I've not had one. However I believe they are top quality. I can confirm the quality of Relum as I've had them for over 20 years. Spent 3 weeks in France this year with our new Palermo 6. Couldn't be happier with it. Third night on site had a thunder & lightning storm for 4 hours with torrential rain. Not a single drop of water inside the tent.
I think "Cabanon" tents are widely recognised to be the best quality tents available, in terms of both material and workmanship... "Relum" though are producing some fine tents too, the "Bardani" range in particular look really good. I have my eye on the "Cassano luxe" when I buy again, at the end of next year. I too, would like to hear from anyone who owns a "Bardani" tent, is the quality as good as it looks on paper? (or computer screen!) I haven't seen one 'in the flesh' yet...
Own 2 carbanons, both bought at bargain prices off ebay. Neither had been used more than 10 days.Used our Espace over the last 3 weeks and cannot fault. Relum make good tents, but carbanon are meant to be the Rolls-Royce all i know is Cabanon have sent me assembly instructions and answered all my questions.
I have both makes of tent - 2 Cabanons and a Relum. Have to say the build quality on the Relum is excellent, every bit as good as the Cabanons, although the fabric is a slightly lighter weight.
Our relum ridge tent is 28 years old and still doesn't leak. Our cabanon frame tent is a mere 18 years old. Still doesn't leak. Go for the design that suits you best.
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
I was struck yesterday by the fact that I could buy a whole secondhand as-new Relum canvas pyramid/frame tent on Ebay for less than the cost of a second inner for my Cabanon Pacific! The Relum went for an absolute bargain £41 in the end. Amazingly, that was the second bargain tent I didn't buy last week. Not sure how much longer I can hold off... MT
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
I have a Cabanon tent and I love it to bits! It has never let me down come wind, rain or shine. I thoroughly recommend them - they're beautifully made good and strong I've noticed many admiring glances towards our Cabanon when we've been camping! Yes, they are are expensive but IMO you get what you pay for
