Hi everyone - New user to this site and we have just taken up camping this year and are now well and trully hooked.
We are looking to buy a montana 6 and are wondering if there are any common faults that would be handy to know , and also if anyone would know a site that would have the best deal,
I've just bought a Monty6 myself, only done a test pitch at the mo, so can't comment on general problems.
However, the poles are steel, and have shaped joints. As a result, they can easily stick together. So, you need to remember to lube the joints with vaseline or something similar when putting the tent up.
It seems that Outwell have had a quality problem this year, with some people having consistant problems with the ones they purchased.
I got a new Montana this year, however, and have no problems whatsoever - and can highly reocmmend them. Seems a bit of pot luck, but the dealers are taking bad ones back and exchanging. So I guess test it before you go away.

we have had a montana 6 since march 2005 and it is fantastic in every respect.sig, good ventilation, roomy, great for light and superbly waterproof.we have just come back today from 3 days of torrential rain in the lake district and our monty 6 has taken it all without a drop inside our tent.buy one now you will love it as we do
Not had a problem with ours (except a missing porch pole that was easily sorted by the shop). Only used twice so far, but If I'd have known tents like this were available I'd have bought a tent years ago
