You can buy them direct from here:

www.deltagroundanchors.co.uk

From my limited experience of them they seem excellent. I brought some metal ones (worried about breaking the plastic ones as I'm heavy handed with hammers), which were expensive compared to other pegs but they are very well built and will last a lifetime.

I have the plastic ones (which are excellement) and not broken one yet - lots of usage and I can be totally insane when banging mine in, in the rain!

Might just get me some metal ones, however, cos' they look cool!

We've got the plastic ones which are brilliant.

If order some from  http://www.deltagroundanchors.co.uk/  don't forget to put UKCS in the message box to get your 10% discount.

Can't recommend these enough, we we're in terrible weather and they didn't budge. They are worth every penny and the plastic ones are very robust, can't see that they would break easily.

They are also on Ebay, again if you mention your a UKCS member you will get a 10% refund via paypal.

Does anyone know how many I'd need for an Hartford XXL?

A lot

Sorry couldn'r resist.

We actually bought 20 for our Montana 6. We used them on the main guy ropes of which there are 16, 2 for each pole. Next time we put the tent up we'll actually count how many we need if we have the canopy on, and order some more.

The Delta pegs were also good for keeping the Outwell Windbreaks (yes, we are colour coordinated as well) upright, in the howling winds.

We look at this way, we paid a lot for the tent and the Delta pegs may not look cheap especially if you have to buy a few, but their investment will pay for itself in no time. Some people on this website seem to have lost their tents during the bad weather last weekend. How many of these would have been saved with Delta pegs?

20 does the job on the main guys and another 6 if you get the additional front canopy.

There’ve been a few threads on here discussing the merits of Delta pegs. From what posters write they certainly sound great. After a blustery couple of weeks in Devon I thought about getting some. Except that I don’t really have a problem with normal pegs.

I’ve no doubt that Delta pegs are great, but I don’t recall ever having had a metal peg come out of the ground.
