is there a safe way to heat the tent without ehu, we are planning an october trip but dont use electric, think it might be cold in the evenings without some form of heating
Sorry I can't help you other than recommend you do a search , type in "Heating" & look in the equipment category. There are lots of previous posts re heating.
we bought a little gas fire from b&m bargains for£14.99 it takes the gas canisters and lasts about 2 to 3 hours each time lovely and warm the same one has been in camping shops for £35 plus and its small to pack
we also have a little camping gas fire that runs on gas canisters , it soon warms up the tent on chilly nights, we only paid about £15 for ours however exactly the same one is in the argos catalogue for £49.99 !
not planning to use it much , just thought i would take the chill off for the kids getting changed etc. im tempted by the little green gas fires that the canisters go inside ( looks like a little electric fire) is this the sort you mean katluce and debj ?
be careful if you get one that runs off cannisters ,they burn with flames ( unlike the flameless blackcat) and are prone to flare ups ,and heat the groundheet up in front of them so you would be best taking something to stand it on!
I have also been thinking of getting a small heater and the ones i have been looking at on ebay are the small green or blue ones. but I already have a gas lantern so if that sends out some heat maybe I wont bother.
Unless I find one in B&M, never thought of looking there. Thanks for that info katluce. Have you had yours long? do you know if they still sell them? Thanks.
My inner tent has completly open mesh walls so there is no chance of not enough ventalation, but massive chance of freezing!
I’ve looked at the Black Cat. £50 is a small price to pay to extend the season a wee bit. I’ve had a search to try and find the price of the replacement canisters for the BC, but can’t. Can anyone give me an idea where I can get them from and how much they cost, please?
£4.99 for the large and £2.99 for the small ,we used 2 large cannisters in 10 days ,didnt have it on a lot ,just an hour or 2 a night .You can get them at camping stores ,we got ours from winfields ,they are sometimes available on site ,but expect to pay more ,around £6
oh and shop around ,the BC is £40 at load of places!
