....on a Monty 6 at last!! After asking all you guys so many questions about waterproofing, pitching, condensation, even BWLs and the like, I reckon I will be buying one soon. one small niggle over the 3+3 sleeping, but No 1 son is old enough for a pup, so we will "suck it and see"!!

Do I need a footprint groundsheet or will just any old one do for inder the SIG?

And finally, before I take the plunge I was going to order the 2007 model from World of Camping, as they are accepting orders for that model but at this years price of £305. (Havent been able to find one on sale, always too late!! Also maybe the issues with this years Montys will have been ironed out?!?)

Thanks all!

Hi Swatty

I dont think they do a footprint sig,but we got just a normal groundsheet from local diy store and will cut to shape when we test our new nebraska tomorrow. it should be cheaper, although we have had to buy two and will duck tape them together.

hope this helps

good luck in your search for the monty

Hi Swatty !!

The footprint groundsheet is supposed to be released with the 2007 range ..... as is that fancy fitted carpet that I keep droning on about !!!

Ok, so I've only got to find a chandolier for the tent to make it REALLY posh !!!

oo-err...get you!!! You wouldn't be one of those who puts astro turf aound the tent, along with a few plant pots??? (Oops, hope not, dont mean to offend!! LOL)

I think the footprint sounds a great idea. Got to be better than the suggestion that came with our Roma 6...... dig a trenach around the tent after pitching to prevent water from entering!! (Or is that a standard instruction??)

Astro turf and plant pots ?? Not me .... honest !!

All joking apart, I really want the carpet though ! I wanna take my dogs camping with me now that I've got the Monty, and the carpet will seriously protect the SIG from their claws !!

Must admit carpet sounds good, but not with my kids!! Also the Oh would flip his lid if I try to pack one more "non essential" into the already groaning car!! We dumped our broken picnic table at the last site we went to and still the journey home saw the kids swamped under allsorts in the back of the car!

I tried to go the DIY route with the carpet, but made a right mess of the SIG with those carpet gripper rods from Allied !!
