Just bought a Tourer 200 and have a few questions for those who know about this tent.

1. The tent came with 2 different types of peg, large black plastic and smaller metal ones, the black plastic ones are a nightmare to get out of the ground, the metal ones are fairly easy. What are the different pegs for?

2. The vent at the back of the bedroom area can be guyed out, but there is no way of fastening it shut, when I let the guys off, the thing flapped about all night.  In the end I had to move the guys to the side of the tent so that it was guyed shut. I would normally expect velcro on there to close it.

3. There is a strip which runs around the bottom which presumably is to keep the wind out, but it seems that it would be fairly easy to damage the break if I were to put pegs in the eylets.

Can anyone comment on the above, and/or give hint and tips for this tent?

Thanks

Hi we never use the plastic pegs, they are a pain. I expect they are for different types of soil.

The vent at the back is just that a vent, it is not meant to be closed we have never had trouble with water coming in it, and we have had some very heavy rain/wind while using it.

We use the small plastic groundsheet pegs around the bottom of the tent, which cuts out any draughts.

It is a great tent, have fun in it!

We use the 4 plastic pegs in the 4 main poles - extra anchorage.

We have never had a problem with our vent  and recently camped in gale force winds!

We peg our storm flap out with the small metal pegs - it is just that - a storm flap which directs the rain away from the groundsheet and does help somewhat with draughts.
