Hello, we've just had our first night camp away, River Dart country park, My wife and twin girls just over 4yrs. had a great time, bought a Montana 6.
Montana wasn't too bad putting up, we had it done in under an hour, noticed the ground sheet was quite a bit off the floor.
I have a couple of questions if someone could help. In the morning there was quite a bit of condensation on the inner roof (little flies everywhere!) but we didn't have a lot of time to get off the plot so couldn;t let it dry out too long, we wiped it down with teat towel, but is this the norm? or do you normally open it out at home to dry out? the bottom of the ground sheet was also wet and dirty, wiped it down as rolling it up, but still quite wet. My only other questions is are there any tips for rolloing it up and getting back into the bag? I had to push squeeze and sit on the bag like a looney to get it in, with a few funny stares and a cheers at the end from other campers.
Thanks. Steve

Definitely take it all out and hang it up or just lay it on the ground but do get it dry or you will find that it might go mouldy. Normal behaviour lol makes it more interesting, specially for everyone else.
Cheers Paul
Thanks. Steve

Hi Showler, welcome to UKCS.
I can't advise on the Monty 6 but I'm sure someone will be along soon who can.
As for drying out your tent.... YES it is very important to dry it out ASAP to prevent mildew etc., Even if it means opening it out in your home if outdoor space is an issue. I would also wipe dry the groundsheet.

Hi Steve,
Firstly I have a Montana 6 and I love it. I'm sorry to hear about other people's problems but its nice to see some of you are happy!!
When it comes to putting the tent away, we tried various different things until someone on here mentioned the pins! and if you were to fold it as per the outwell video then you're at risk of piercing the sig with them.
Now when folding the tent we open the front door to let the air out. Then fold pins to pins (so long side over to long side) then - depending on how brave you are I lie down on the tent starting at the end away from the door and roll - like you would as a kid rolling down a hill. Fortunately I've got kids and we make it a game. Shoes off, line them up and let them go - never known air come out any better! . Which is where a groundsheet would come in as you won't be filthy. Although first time we just wrapped a towel round each of us. But make sure you've nothing on you which could do any damage like a bunch of keys etc Then we fold the same again (long side to long side) - roll again. And one more time then it rolls up and goes in the bag with room to spare at the sides for the pegs and mallets.
I've yet to see if it catches on
