Hi Andy, I really want a Khyam annexe, but my tent is the older XL Classic which doesn't have a side door opening. 2tents
I think someone once asked "Would the 'Classic annexe' fit against the large canopy door opening, of a "Classic XXL" rather than the rear 'J' door... I looked, when I last used the annexe in August and couldn't see why it shouldn't... The same should apply to the 'XL Classic' but it would end up nearly 8 metres long! (by 3 metres wide!)...
Unfortunately, like you, I can't see that it would be practical to use the annexe with the older 'XL Classic'. Even if you could fit it against the canopy door. Without the side 'J' door panel to open, I reckon it would get pretty hot inside during warm weather!... Also, if you're bothered about the 'aesthetics', the two might look a bit 'odd' together...
I certainly wouldn't get rid of the maroon 'XL Classic' for the sake of using an annexe. I had the older style 'XXL Classic' and it's still going strong, after five years & still in very good condition. We camped with the friends who now have the tent, earlier this year. The only thing they've had to do, is replace the guylines. They're certainly made to last, that's for sure...

Do you reckon the 4oz fabric is substantially better quality than the current 2oz, then, A.P? What about the weight/bulk trade-off?

hi there folk!
i have just bought an annexe for my classic xl
sooo excited coz im hoping to use it on saturday (waiting for it to arrive first!)
anyway, i was thinking, could two annexes be put on the main tent at the same time? or maybe a porch by the smaller J door and then an annexe by the large canopy opening??
my family is growing, so it would be great to have loads of space plus somewhere else to leave the wellies!!
