Hi

I am not happy with my Lichfield, not much living space, and too many beasties.

I quite like the Montana 6 but have read, on here, about the problems people are having with it.

Can anybody recommend a large tent with sig with large living space and windows?

Thanks

Wellygog

How many bedrooms? What budget?

And re the Montana, if that is what you want I would wait until the 2007 models and see how they are performing. I would expect Outwell to have things fixed for their new ones. Otherwise, how about the very similar set up with the Bear Lake and Norfolk Lake models from Outwell, which have had nothing but praise over the year.

Similar sized SIG tents to the Montana (taken from a previous thread):

  • Aztec Cantera
  • Cabanon Biscaya
  • Coleman Magellan & Columbus
  • Easycamp Ancona & Cosenza
  • Gelert Vancouver, Quebec & Tahoma
  • Khyam/Campus Yale & Breckenridge
  • Outdoor Revolution VRX Scenic 5.0i
  • Outwell Hartford, Nebraska, SunValley, Montana, Lake range
  • Relum Bardini range
  • Royal Biarritz
  • Sunncamp Vario, Haven, Mondial, Typoon, Evolution, Oasis, Tourist
  • Vango Diablo, Aspen, Aurora
  • Wild country Halo
  • Wynnster Orion, Cygnus & Hawk

Hi Wellygog,

We like our Sunncamp Haven 800 (2006 model).  SIG; large living area; 3 bedrooms: 2 x 2 berth at one end, + 1 x large 4 berth with divider if required at the other; good windows.  Has withstood heavy rain and fairly strong winds.  Cost us £300 earlier this year.  Don't confuse the 800 with the prev model Haven 8 - even some websites have them mixed up!

Caro.

Not sure how big you want, but we just bought a brand new 2005 Hartford M from Yeomans for just £99.00 inc delivery and are well pleased with it. The other models the L and XL maybe what you are after. link here:-

Go for the Vango Aspen 700dlx, we have the 700 from last year, loads of space, very solid tent (when you have done the twenty or so guy ropes!) and plenty of headroom in the living AND sleeping areas. The porch is excellent for cooking in dry or wet weather.
