as kaiser chiefs once said "OH MY GOD"

WHAT a day we had started off ok with a cup of tea opened up the case took both inner and outers out of case then noticed the fly sheet had a rip in the top of it ,it did not go down to well with the wife.. it took us quiet sometime to get started as the instuctions were VERY basic indeed we than started with the poles on the inner tent then we could not figure out where they went ie to keep them in place but we guessed they went into the little metal I shaped prongs(are we right?????) ;(

Then I noticed that one of the things you hammer into the ground on one of the bedrooms (material) was missing and it has come off the tent completely (it did not go down  well with the wife AGAIN) then go started to try and see how it was meant to look we did not hammer the strings from the outer into the ground as im going to send it back to the shop ???however it was the last one they had and I need a tent for next week when we go camping ??? what shall I do.???the wife is now saying that we cannot handle it with  just the 2 of us putting it up on our own ??? I think the only real struggle was putting the fly sheet on  it was high for even me and im about 6ft 2in tall and that it was damaged/broken really put my thoughts down in the dumps for today.i know im a beginner at camping so I need to know what you other members  would do ???????????????????????????????

RIGHT so 2day i called the website/shop and they were really nice about it and offered to replace full refund or swap it for a Biarritz 9 Tent now i dont know what to do  i got a Aztec Cantera 9 which was buggered now im been offered a Biarritz 9 Tent what shall i do what are the pros and cons

We have just bought a Biarritz 9 for £154 from a tent show in Towyn North Wales. We were toying with the cantera but having seen this it seemed better for us as there is only me, df and our nearly 3 yr old upto now. The only real difference that I could see was that the cantera has a door between each bedroom where the biarritz doesnt making the livin space slightly smaller, but its still got bags of room and df could easily stand in it (6ft) with room to spare. Oh and the porch is slightly shorter, which we didnt mind either and for that price we were well pleased!

I would go for the Biarritz personally, just because of the bedrooms. We had a canterra 12, which was a great tent but we didnt like the slopey bedrooms, the Biarritz ones stick out further befor sloping off IYSWIM.

Hi Matthewd, sorry to hear that the shop sold you a duff tent mate, especially after your other thread. Poles on the inner go in the Ring and Pin as you so rightly described. But as for the ripped flysheet and missing peg hoop what can be said. We are both short but use the wind / breeze to help, If you pull the fly over the inner so the wind helps lift the fly all goes well.

be very careful when trying to insert the vent opeing poles , well more like sticks, as their so thin. I think there is a design fault with the length of these. Don't try to over force them, they WILL splinter. The vents work reasonably well with out them, just a bit more fiddley with their zip. If you can shave a bit off them.
