Yes its a big tent but with a bit of practise (like all things) putting it up isnt a real problem.

Our 700DLX has skylights inside.

somerset caravans!!  They havent got any on display, postage is £12. If only I could see one on display.

Big Blunderer, how long does it take to put up, we are complete beginners and really struggled to get our now returned leaky Outwell Nebraska off the ground with the weight of the poles and then how do you get the flysheet overthe inner, its a big tent!

Hi pager33,

We've got the Aspen 700, it takes us about an hour to put up and we are 2 ladies...one 5'5" and the other 5'3". Ok, it's a bit of a struggle to hold the poles up when the legs are going in but we manage! To get the flysheet over, we just hold it at the front of the tent, one each side and just walk towards the back of the tent - it just glides over the inner into position!

Good luck!

We have an Aspen 700, it is not too hard to put up, that's a really good price for the DLX.  Do't know how many you need to sleep but the 700 is much more spacious than the 500.

ruby willow,

we bought a 700dlx from Somerset Caravans a couple of weeks ago, they had the 500dlx on display, a complete stroke of good luck, they put it up the day before we visited. We went for the 700dlx as much bigger than 500. We are really pleased with the tent

Morning Pager33

It's only for me and my son aged 11 (plus everything including the kitchen sink, but I now have a kitchen tent for all of that!!)

I just loved my friends one when I saw it during the summer. Mind you I think she had the 700dlx. Oh my brain hurts now trying to decide . I think I'm gonna have to see the two together, maybe we should get the 700dlx after all we have an 8 berth at the mo, and we do plan to camp for 3 - 4 weeks in the summer.

Looking at the Gelert Utah 4 for just a small quick get away weekend tent so we can camp more during the season. Haven't seen any threads on this so fingers crossed I'm getting a good little tent. I'm just about to buy it online.

the 500dlx would be great for the 2 of you. We found 2 of the bedrooms two small for us( 2 singles) so We went for the 700 as we have 2 kids aged 10 and 7 and will be camping in france for 2 weeks at a time with aload of stuff!!! and the two outer bedrooms are much better sizes in the 700dlx, we will have one in with us (7yr old girl who dosent want to sleep on her own) son will have one room and  the other will be storage/ wardrobe as great hanging rail in that room  and because of  700 extra width you also get wider tent so wider living area.. We are going to buy a seperate utility tent, probably the OR outhouse on sale on this site. We really love the tent and cant wait to take it to France next year.
