Thank you very much. I have read lots of threads and have, I hope, learnt some.
I am undecided between the Vango Oregon 400 or 600. I have watched the video clip of how they are supposed to be erected and the theory at least makes some sense. The 400 is lighter at 14.1 kg and the pack size is smaller, so it would be easier to manage, but the recommendation to get a bigger tent and have more comfort and space when it is raining also seems sensible.
Does anyone know any retailers in Scotland that would have tents on display? I realise I may not see a Vango Oregon but I would get a better idea of size and also get to see other equipment that I will need.
Since these tents have the poles on the outside, how do you hang things in the inside? The electric light hung from a pole in the tent I was in, and there was other storeage units hanging up.
