We bought a Montana 4 by Outwell and the quality of this tent is outstanding.I have not one thing to critisize about the design/workmanship/materials.It has withstood torrential downpours (in the Lake District)plus extremely high winds. This model of tent took it all in its stride.We were snug/dry. The rain porch is an absolute must have. All your wet gear off before you get into the tent area, superb.The material is 5000 hydrostatic head (withstands up to 5mm of rain) This is higher than some of the vango tents and even high country tents.This tent has been used about a dozen times this year since we bought it.It is a very compact/roomy tent, easy to put up and take down AND it ALWAYS fits back in its TROLLEYbag with ease.The inner tent is already in place as you erect the tent, as is the already built in groundsheet.All that is left to do is set up your beds and unpack. Absolutely great.It has mosquito nets on the doors and loops on all zip pulls including the windows and illuminuse guyropes.WELL DONE OUTWELL.

Hi Big Bunny, saw your cabbonon pyrimide tent, we have the same, well almost, by Lichfield. Is yours canvas? ours is.We used it this weekend, a great tent.

We do prefer the canvas to nylon, but I must say, the Outwell Montana 4 is a fine well made tent. Canvas still rules my heart though, I must confess.

Yes the Pyramide 6 is canvas, which was the main attraction to me. We have Montana 6 as well, but the Pyramide is the first choice for weekends by far.

...and "no" Liddenham, not been drinking (well not that much ), I know all the problems Outwell have had, but I too have had none. Our 2006 Montana 6 has also been flawless... just glad a few of us got the well made ones.. phew

Glad you are a fan of the Montana 4,we bought one this year and although we have only used it twice,we LOVED it!

The only problem we had was not putting the "bath tub" groundsheet in correctly and we sprunk a leak in the side entrance area,but you live and learn!

On that subject,how do you fit the groundsheet?

We had rain coming down the tent and running in and gathering on the groundsheet,so it was obvious we had not fitted it properly.

Good to see another happy camper who had a good one first time.

Did you manage to get the poles in the tent bag too? We managed to do it.

Did you leave the rain porch up during the strong winds? We ended up pulling ours in when the it was getting up to gale force the other weekend. Felt like the pole was going to snap.

We had exactly the same problem with the bathtub groundsheet.  I had the two 'pointed parts' of the sheet stuck outside of the porch.  Rain ran down the sides of the tent and straight into the porch.  The solution was to tuck the corners inside the porch.  Excuse my poor explanation but might be worth a look next time you pitch?

I've not tried putting the poles in the same bag but I have a piece of ecomat large enough to carpet the living area which easily fits in the bag on top of the tent.  Perhaps the bag is the same size as the one for the bigger Monty's hence leaving some spare space?
