I got a gas heater that uses the cannisters - only because our cooker uses them.  I got it off e-bay as the one in Argos is over £50!!!!!!

I have a Blackcat heater and it works very well. However, it is a small heater, for IMHO occasional usage in a small to medium sized tent.

If this is heating all through the winter some big dome I would want something else, probably some electric driven device.

Hi Hellen

If you are doing EHU then I can recommend a fan heater. Mine was a tenner in Homebase. It is not too noisy and has 2 heat settings, neither of which will exceed the ampage on a British site.

I think I will be investing in a fan heater. We just bought a small electric oven from Wilko's for £10 which belts out a lot of heat too. Not sure if there will be enough room in the car for all the mod cons!

I bought a little 800W halogen heater from Instore for just £6.99 - it cuts out if it tips over and seemed to be ok - we were lucky though and didn't really need it - but hubby stood kids in front of it for a few mins to dry off their wet trousers and they said it was hot enough on 1 'bar'.

we have a fairly large tent and we use a eletric fan heater which heats the tent really quickly and of course it makes a big difference having a SIG.

If EHU is available wouldn't an oil filled radiator be an option?...Fan heaters are noisy.
