Hi everyone, I went into Cheshire Leisure this morning to pick up my bedroom annexe for my Andorra, I really wanted the tall annexe but could not get one anywhere. Anyway This shop has a closing down sale since they are going to sell online only. whilst I was there I started speaking to the owner about the pyramide tent that I have wanted but not been able to affored after purchasing the Andorra. The owner showed me a brand new 4 person 1991 model. It has a sig in the bedroom area, curtains, space for 2 chairs and cooker stand. I cannot remember the name of the model but it begins with M he said he has 3 of them which he found whilst emptying his shelfs and that they must have been there all these years. So I bought one for £120.00 thinking it would be the ideal weekender tent for us and for our grown up kids to use at festivals etc. the tent although brand new is 15years old, does this matter with canvas tents, will the quality still be the same as if I bought this years model and have I got a bargin. I am thrilled with the tent but have not put it up yet as i have only just got it but i have checked it out and everything seems fine, What do you think. does the age matter.

hiya - i repeatedly used a canvas tent that was 40 years old. Eventually the canvas became a little threadbare but only in a few places of high stress and this was after undergoing blinding sun and torrential rain and even a hurricane or 2. It gave up the ghost after the last hurricane as it tore in a couple of strategic places.
But I bet if yours is really still "new" and has been stored well, you should get loads of great use out of it.
Your 'Pyramide' tent should be absolutely fine, it sounds as though it has been well stored, so I doubt that you'll have any problems with it... I know people who have used the same canvas tent for twenty years and more, every summer and they're still fine. I reckon you've got a bargain there...
I would have been on the phone for one of those if I hadnt recently bought a lovely new Lichfield frame tent. I love the pyramid tents but now that I have a canvas tent I'm hoping to get the next 20 years of camping out of it.
Hi everyone, Can I just say that it's took me 3 hours to download this one photo. I had to resize it and I don;t have a clue about computors. Any way this is the tent I bought today for £120 it's never been out of it bag which was in a sealed clear bag but I think I can't say it brand new when in fact the date on the bag is 1991. I pitched it in 20 mins on my own what do you think, is it worth what I paid for it, even though it's 15 years old and do you think I could get a sun canopy to fit it.

You may not get a canopy to fit it but one of those sun shades that are popular with the Dutch and French campers would look great in front of it. You can get them from Decathlon.
