The bedroom pods have their own Sown in Groundsheet (SIG) and the other groundsheet supplied covers the rest of the tent and a couple of inches under the bedroom pods.
I would personally get a PVC groundsheet big enough to put under the bedroom pods as this prevents damp from rising and making you feel cold at night and reducing condensation.
Bear in mind that many campsites do not like you using PVC groundsheets at they will kill the grass if you are pitched for several days.
I have the Indy 6 and it is a great tent with loads of space, so I think you will get a lot of service out of your Indy 8. The only thing I find is that the Indy 6 is a bit heavy to put up on my own, especially if it's windy and I do feel it is a lot of work just for weekends, that's why I'm looking for something a bit smaller.
we have the indy 8 and love it the ground sheet doesn't go under the big bedroom pod at the back but does go under the 2 man room. we don't use tarps or anything under the bedroom but if you want to it would be easy. I love this tent and couldn't sing it prais more. we use it for weekend and plan to use it for or long holiday next year, we are a family of 5 kids aged 6yr,4yr and 18 months
I just notice you didn't say if it was the outwell or kymen indiana you where talking about we have the outwell.
hi katie thanks for your reply its the outwell do you have a trailer .our car is the piccaso but the dog who is a very large newfoundland takes up most off the back off the car any tips on packing and such would be great lol thanks denise
We bought the Khyam Indiana 8 this year and found it to be an excellent choice. The loose ground sheet that came with it covers the whole area end-to-end then the pods have their own SIG. We are now on the lookout for a smaller 3/4 man tent foe weekends.
we have a zafria with a very large roof boxs (bigest we could find) and 3 kids! the tent and the poles go in the boot with the porto loo, cool box, pushchair and as many little bits I can get in, sleeping bags, air beds chairs, table, stove, stove stand, windbreak go in the roof boxs and the bag of clouthes by the kids feet. The bag of poles is the same size as the tent bag and allways goes on top of it, the tent fits lengh ways in our car. we have thought about a trialer but we have no where to put one when its not in use.
We bought a Khyam Indiana 8 this summer, we've only used it once so far but found it to be great. It has loads of room im there and is very versatile as you don't have to put all the bedroom pods in if you don't want to. There is a large ground sheet that completely covers the whole area of the tent and the bedroom pods go on top of this. There are small purpose made holes in the ground sheet for you to peg down the bedroom pods and then you pull a drawstring to seal around the pegs. It does take a while to put the tent up, I suppose it was easily a good 40 minutes on our first attempt but this would get quicker with practice. We have a smaller tent which we use for short weekends. What was nice about the Indiana 8 was that as there is so much room in there, the kids did not do the usual fighting!
