we camp all year round!!!!
We've been away the last 2 weekends, me, oh and 3 kids, the youngest being 18 months. No Electric hook up. Yes, we're told we are mad but I really enjoy it. There was no one else in the tenting field so it's great, it's all ours. The kids have a great time. My 6 year old was wandering around in the morning in her pj's poking sticks at trees. Far better than being sat in front of the TV. Best time of year this is as you can give the kids even more freedom as there are so few people about. The evening was a bit chilly but we weren't freezing and were all nice and warm in bed.
Just got back from three days in Norfolk. Yesterday was so warm I was in shorts and no shirt on the beach!!! Nights were also warm enough to leave the zip down on the sleeping bag. Today rained and was cold, put on my North Face and was warm again. The only tent in the field as well. People also thought I was mad, but then I pointed out that I was a Geordie and the cold is never a problem to us.
------------- Did not camp once last year due to work. This year will be different.
We are going away this weekend in the tent, I'm not so worried about the cold,we can always just put another layer on, but I really hope it doesnt rain.
we are off to Cornwall this weekend , just bought the kids warmer bags, Outlooks not very dry but what the heck, the kids want to go body boarding in the sea , can't get much wetter than that.!!
We are off to the Cotswolds on Monday for 3 days in our tent - and everyone at work thinks I am completely off my trolley, but we love it. No EHU, but extra clothes in the evening and duvet plus sleeping bag at night and we are warm as toast. We spent last October half term in Cornwall in the tent - we were the only tent in a field with about 9 caravans, and it blew a gale and poured with rain, but we didn't care!!
we are off to filey on monday , with no ehu,we do have duvets bags and a small gas heater , plus thermal hats so im sure we will be ok, its our first trip this late in the year and our first on our new monty, so lets hope all goes well
