Is there somewhere in the UK that sells discounted tents at low season prices? anywhere in UK will do. Something like a warehouse in a city full of old models at winter prices

Good question, and one I don't think I can give a helpful answer too!

My hunch regarding businesses that sell off old models at winter prices is that most of those places are online sellers - I don't think many places will have warehouse space open to the public as that bumps up costs. You may have to take a gamble with an unseen online purchase, though if you stick to well known makes and models that should reduce the uncertainty factor.

However, UKCS is such a wealth of knowledge that I am of course prepared to stand corrected if folks come along with lots of ideas for warehouse places that I have not heard of. It may help if you specify where in the country you are interested in looking.

Previously, the shops have sold off end-of-line stuff cheap on Ebay (specifically where the model is being repalced with something so obviously diferent).

I've heard winnfields at Haslingdon are selling their display models of really cheaply and their regular stock is sold off at good prices too in winter.

We bought our tent from I think YWARWS and Beddgelert they sell the Gelert stuff and in August paid £150 for Alaska 8 which was and probably still is a good price for this tent my friend has actually been to the shop and says they sell all their stuff off at the end of the season.  If you go on Gelerts web am sure you can get the exact address not sure if they only stock gelert though hope this is of use. oh it is near Porthmadog we actually bought mail order though.

You could try Jacksons of Old Arley, West Midlands/Warwickshire.  They are very resonable with prices and sell off their display models.  We were there last weekend and there were a few bargains going.

Really Niz - you secret Jackson's Geek ;-)

Yep - I heartily agree with Nizzie - Jackson's of Arley are great - good range of tents across all sizes and price ranges - Niz and I both got our tents at end of season prices from jacksons about 18months ago - we've never looked back since!

Nice family company - well informed and always willing to help you out!!

Good Luck

Kerry x
