hello when we camped with our sunnvalley 8 we had some rain. we had the front porch open and sat just inside the porch area.what we found was water began to collect ontop of the porch which began to sag and water began to pour through the porch window which was obviously facing upward. the problem is that the bottom of the window is not sealed in any way all it has is a velcro tab.has anyone been able to overcome this problem. would one of those front canopy's solve the problem or would water just run between the canopy and the tent making it pointless in the rain. any help would be greatly appreciated.
we have the universal canopy for our monty it's great the water runs down the side of the tent on to the ground without any water pooling or causing us any probs
we have the same tent (only had one weekend in it so far, but roll on spring) and whilst away on the Gower, another SV8 owner had the outwell side canopy over the front of her tent. it looked mighty fine and i will be getting one early next year.
Does the SV* have a side entrance. If so you could use the Coleman awning. We use one on our Vango Oregon and it made a huge difference. It was only £20 ish

I'm not a complete idiot...some bits are missing.
The only problem with the universal side canopy is that you are left with a big gap at the sides.
The newer SV side extension has solved this problem.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

that looks good on the front of the SV,just the job when its raining.
The thing I don't like about the SV's pre 2008 is closing the front zips, you have to reach down along way to pull them to the bottom(am I nit picking here)lol

hi .. I just posted this on the other sv8 thread........
Just to let you know, we've used the Universal side canopy from Outwell on the front and side of our SV8, also use it on the Sunncamp EVO 600 DL.. not that difficult really it would fit most tunnel shaped tents - and even our weird shaped Evo. I'm pretty sure I swppped the bad 2 guys to 4 metres ones though and just take it down the side. i think it hooks into the pin near the side door entrance.

WE have the side canopy for our SV8 but haven't taken it with us yet - can't see why we should need it to be honest as there is plenty of room for the 4 of us. It came with the tent so wasn't an expensive waste.
What year SV8 is the OP referring to as the 2008 version doesn't have the windows as described (I don't think- been sat here trying to picture what was meant)
The earlier version of the sv, pre 2008 model has the closed in porch. You can pole the front door up and out to make a canopy . This is what the OP was referring to.
