Hi starryeyed, welcome to ukcs.
Heres what we do, hope this helps.
Firstly, we lay out a seperate groundsheet, ( to keep the underside of the S.I.G clean and dry ) bought ours at yeomans, and at £19.99 is a perfect fit for the montana 6
Then we roll out the tent, and make sure the tension straps are at thier loosest.
Then we insert all the roof poles, then starting from the back , we insert the first pair of side poles, and insert the ring and pin in the bottom of the poles, this can be tricky if the tension straps are not at thier loosest.
We then peg a few guy ropes out , just to get it standing, then work forwards onto the next set of side poles doing exactly the same each time.
Once the 4 sets of side poles are in and the tent is standing we then give the side poles a bit of a shuffle and make sure we have no creases in the S.I.G, once we are happy with that, we go around and tighten the tension straps and guy-ropes
This works for us, and hope this is of some help
