Hi
I have a Sunn camp Tourist 600 and found it excellent until one of the pole springs snapped in the alluminum pole. i went to the retailer and all he could do is supply me with a new spring, anyone know where i can get a tool to A: remove old spring and B: fit new one!!!

 you just pull on the broken spring till it lets go you leave the V shaped bit inside the pole. knock it down into the pole with a screwdriver. you then push the new spring into the pole with a screwdriver(carefully though)

Hi Bobbybingleton & welcome to the forum

I know that you can get a tool for inserting new springs, but I haven't got a clue where from in the Reading area  

However, the tool looks like a screwdriver with a 'V' cut in the end of it, so as Carole says you can change the springs without a special tool. My hubby used pincers to pull as much of the broken spring out as possible, poke the remaining bit of it down the pole with a screwdriver. Balance the end of the new spring over the end of the pole & push it down with a screwdriver, and same with other end of spring.

Hi

I made a tool by bending a stiff piece of wire to form a hook at the end, its a bit difficult to explain but if you push this down the side of the broken spring & slowly pull it back up with the hook between one side of the v shaped bit & the pole you will find that this takes the tension off the spring & it will come out

As stated above use an old screwdriver with a v filed in the end to insert new springs.

We had a right disaster with our frame tent in the wind last year (see my other posts) & i ended up replacing loads of these springs in this way
