Hi helpful campers.

Have just got myself (another) new tent. Its the Outwell Hartford S and it looks amazing.  Colour me happy, but reading instructions you need someone on the inside to 'push ' up while person on the outside puts the poles over the metal pins.

So, does anyone on here have this tent?

And would a extending clothes prop do the job. ( just a thought.)

From the instructions inside the bag it is a dome but not crossover poles.

It states:-

The longest pole insert at front of inner tent

the 2nd longest pole positioned above the centre of the tent

2 poles with corner brackets at back of tent above sleeping cabins.

the tent can now be raised.

So how does this sound. is it better than a crossover type?

I guess I should try and put it up outside huh!

It is 210 high that is why I thought a clothes pole would be handy to push the top up.  Now just need to find a large garden as it is 525 front to back and side to side.

The tent is only a 4 birth but I had hoped to use it for weeks rather than weekends. lol, look at me getting brave............

Have booked Oaklands for 15th June. Looking at the Dent weekend but it is 2 1/2 hours away.  What time does it go dark in March?

Thanks for that great information. . Still not put my tent up but so looking forward to camping in it. So far I have bought it a doormat, a windbreak and a canopy (which also had a doormat, so it has 2)

(Wish they made a footprint for it, but they only start with the Hartford L)

they are all sat under the stairs waiting to go on holiday.

Hi we have a Hartford XXL and two put it up easily, so have every faith in yourself!!  Also do ask other campers as if we were asked we would certainly help and have met many like minded campers.

If you go on the OUTWELL website they have fabulous virtual demonstration on putting up the individual tents and what to do first etc..  we look at it to see what we are doing wrong and to refresh us etc...  although its not collapsed yet!!!
